Auckland, 25 March 2009 – Editure, the education services and technology company, has appointed Viv Hall as Country Manager to represent Editure’s business in New Zealand. She will report to Peter Evans, General Manager of Editure’s Education Technology Division.

Ms Hall, who had been Education Marketing and Channel Manager, Gen-I, will develop Editure’s channels and manage its relationships with key organisations in New Zealand. This includes the recently announced partnership with the Ministry of Education to develop Editure’s myclasses learning management system (LMS) to meet the Ministry’s managed learning environment (MLE) interoperability goals. Before joining Gen-I, Ms Hall was Sales Manager for Telecom NZ’s SchoolZone VPN solution. She has extensive experience in e-Learning, as a teacher, principal and ICT adviser.

Mr Evans said Ms Hall’s appointment would significantly strengthen Editure’s offer to the New Zealand market. “Achieving our goals in New Zealand will require us to meet the needs of all our stakeholders – the Ministry, our channels, and, of course, the schools using our products and their students, teachers and parents. Viv’s appointment means Editure has the management skills and market and stakeholder understanding necessary to achieve this.”

Editure has a well-established connection with the New Zealand market, providing a range of services to around 1000 schools as part of Telecom New Zealand’s SchoolZone offering. The company is now looking to build on this after being among three winning tenderers to partner the New Zealand Ministry of Education to develop its MLE. The MLE is a range of web-based and digital tools used by schools, its teachers, students, parents and administrators.

A presence outside of New Zealand, in the UK, USA, Australia, South Africa and Hong Kong, means Editure can contribute learnings from these markets to the New Zealand initiatives, as well as learn from them.

Mr Evans noted “a key part of Viv’s role will be to ensure a good two-way flow of information between our New Zealand activities and our global markets.”
