Editure appoints a new reseller for the United Kingdom

25/11/2009

Editure, the global education and training company, is pleased to announce it has appointed DB Education Services Limited (“DB Education”) as its new distributor in the United Kingdom for its award winning BECTA compliant learning platform software.

The appointment is effective immediately.

The distribution agreement allows DB Education to market and sell the full range of products and services offered by Editure’s mysuite learning platform.  The Editure mysuite learning platform has been used by Regional Broadband Consortia, LA’s and schools across the United Kingdom since 2002. In December 2006 mysuite passed the rigorous technical and functional tests of the BECTA learning platform conformance regime as part of its efforts to establish the BECTA Learning Platform Services Framework. Today mysuite is used in around 3,000 schools across the UK.

The mysuite learning platform consists principally of eight web based modules, all of which integrate fully and feature a common user interface with single sign on for users. The modules are SINA (Schools Internet Network Administrator), mydesktop, mymail, myclasses virtual learning environment, myportfolio, parent portal, mywiki and myblog. In addition Editure offers other services such as email anti-virus, anti-spam and the world’s leading education specific content filtering engine. The product is SCORM 2004 and QTI V2 compliant and integrates with content from leading UK content providers. Editure also provides a software module for UK school management information system interoperability. These software products are supported by our professional services team to ensure a seamless launch, integration and essential product training.

To ensure Editure and our partners remain at the forefront of educationally relevant learning platforms the company is also in the process of completing its ‘next generation’ learning platform release, which is scheduled to be available to preview with clients in 2010. Clients will be able to see a demo of this at the upcoming January 2010 BETT show at our stand - F140.

Through the agreement, DB Education will provide sales, training and local service desk support to UK clients. Editure will provide all software, software upgrades and new versions, hosting and operational support.

Barrie Lambert, President of Editure’s Education Technology business, commented: “This new relationship with DB Education is an important step forward in our goal of partnering with leading organisations in the global education sector which will enable us to better serve the needs of our UK clients.  We look forward to working in close partnership with DB Education. Both organisations possess a deep commitment to delivering the highest quality services to our educational clients.  I am confident that with our mutual business objectives, this is the start of a very successful partnership. Together, we will positively impact teaching and learning in classrooms across the UK.”

Rod MacLaren, Managing Director of DB Education Services, said: “DB Education already has a strong presence in the UK education sector and partnering with Editure allows us to continue to build on our service offering. The shared vision, values and complementary skill sets of our partnership with Editure focuses on leading edge technologies which empower both teachers and students to become active participants in 21st century technologies. Our partnership with Editure is integral in delivering technology solutions that enhances the manner in which education is delivered and administered in the UK.”
